Dr. John Yao, PhD (1994) received his undergraduate, Masters and Doctoral degrees in Chemistry from Wuhan University, China. He held Postdoctoral Fellowships at Southern Methodist University, USA and University of Manitoba, Canada before joining Medicure Inc/CanAm Bioresearch Inc in 2001. Dr. Yao was recruited by NAEJA Pharmaceuticals Inc. in 2004, where he worked as a scientist until he established TC Scientific Inc in 2009.
Dr. Yao, an ‘Outstanding Student’ throughout his studies at Wuhan University, was honored for ‘Outstanding Accomplishment at Postgraduate Research’. As an industrial chemist, he made significant contribution to the development and optimization of numerous drug candidate compounds, much of which has been published in professional and scientific journals.
As CEO of his company, Dr. Yao directs and consults on drug design and synthesis, and production/scale-up and large-scale syntheses, and GLP drug manufacturing.
